Hello, I am currently a sophomore interested in UMiami, just wanted to know how difficult it actually is.
It’s easier to get into than Harvard and harder to get into than community college.
GPA, SAT/ACT and extracurriculars?
As of Now
Gpa- 3.8
I haven’t taken the SAT or ACT yet
Extracurriculars:
Robotics
Push/Rebel
Mentoring a middle school robotics team
Volunteer at the library and senior citizen home
Volunteer at hospital
The university of Miami accepts slightly under 4 in ten applicants, making it a moderately competitive college to attend.
Definitely pick up some APs
Try to take classes (and AP where feasible) in each of the five core subjects (math, social studies, English, foreign language, science) each year of high school. Doing so will demonstrate rigor. Here is a link to the profile of the 2017 freshman class:
