Look at the Common Data Set, Section C. It will tell you the percentage admitted and their stats, as well as the elements considered on the application. One question I have is can you afford to attend Mizzou as an out of state student?

*Full ride help.

I’m a minority(Mexican), first generation student

3.6 GPA
26 ACT

Lots of ECs

And a family income of 19k annually. Am i a good candidate for a full ride to any university? I live in Illinois*

You have a bigger problem. Mizzou is an OOS public for you. The OOS cost is well beyond what your family will pay. Mizzou isn’t going to give you enough aid to afford the school. State schools have to use their limited funds to help their instats students (whose costs are lower).

Publics charge a high OOS cost for a reason. Wouldn’t make much sense if they then covered those high costs with need-based aid.

Since you’re low income, you need to focus on instate schools and privates that give great aid.

I put your info into the Net Price Calculator on Mizzou’s website:

****Academic Year: 2010-11

Estimated tuition and fees $19,690

Estimated total price of attendance: $32,470

Estimated Net Price After Grants and Scholarships: $21,546

So, Mizzou would expect your family to pay over $21k per year. That’s more than their income. You need to focus on affordable schools.

Since the cost estimates are based on a previous year’s costs, the amount that your family would be expected to pay is likely higher.
