How hard it is to get into medicine in the USA?

Hi, I completed my high school here in USA and have been accepted to bio-med engineering undergrad program in USA. I have also been accepted to one of the top private medical schools in India. I am interested to pursue a career in medicine, but not sure how hard it is to get into a medical school in USA so kinda leaning towards joining the school in India. Can someone please share some statistics on acceptance rates into medical schools in USA? Is it really very difficult to get into MD program here in USA?

Thanks!

Are you a US citizen or permanent resident?

If so, approx ~45% of applicants gain an acceptance to medical school each year.

If you are an international, then your chances are quite poor. In 2013, only 115 internationals matriculated into all US medical schools combined.

Internationals are listed at the very bottom of the table.
