My mom was telling me that getting in EA to Notre Dame is just as hard if not harder to get into than ED @ Dartmouth. Is this true? I was always under the impression that it would be a little easier.

I'd bet money on your acceptance.

Dont know anything about admission at Dartmouth.......but dont underestimate the selectivity of ND

yea most people do not know that ND is as selective as it really is, but i don't know anything about dartmouth either.

I think it all depends on what you have to offer aside from GPA and test scores that will determine how hard/easy it is to get into ND early. This is assuming that everyone who applies to ND early action presents with outstanding scores and GPA.

Thanks. I am very happy with my EC's and essays. I've been playing 3 sports for 4 years and I'm the captain/cocaptain of those three sports this year (not good enough to be recruitable though),Assistant Head Tour Guide, Vice President of SADD, Newspaper, Founded Lacrosse Club/Lacrosse Team, and a some other stuff I can't remember right now.

SOunds to me like you're a shoo-in...but I am not an authority on this :)

I know a little about Dartmouth EA. My ND freshman son has a friend, (who is now a freshman at Penn), that applied EA at Dartmouth. His scores were National Merit Commended (1510, I think). His grades were A's and B's in a very challenging High School. He ran track throughout HS, but I don't think he won any state awards. High School had sent another student to Dartmouth 3 or 4 years ago. Friend was deferred to Regular Decision, and eventually denied. We all thought he had a pretty good shot at being admitted. So, yes, I think it is very difficult to get into Dartmouth. BUT, I also think it is very difficult to get into ND--one thing will not guarantee admission. I have said before that I truly believe that ND is looking for the brightest students that can handle the academic rigor as well as contribute to the Notre Dame community. Many people may think that because ND is not part of the Ivy's, it is a piece of cake for admissions. I just don't believe so. I think admissions looks at your whole package--and especially whether or not you are a good fit. Sports will not guarantee your admission (my son did not play a single varsity sport). I do not think that good grades alone will guarantee admission, nor do I think legacy guarantees admission. Good Luck!
