Hi. CSU is our son’s first choice for Horticulture. We are from PA. His SAT is 1890 and gpa wt. is 4.12. How hard is it to get in to CSU agriculture. Any help would be great.
I’m from Colorado, and, in general, CSU isn’t too hard to get into. Consider however, that the ag program is one of the more competitive programs at CSU. His GPA and test scores are well within range to get accepted here. I had the same scores and similar GPA, and was accepted into the agriculture program AND offered admissions into the honors program.
hi @rjoyn99 We heard from CSU. He got in and is very excited to go to Colorado. Thanks for your response. i think he is going to major in floraculture/horticulture
@mainlinemom There are numerous plant nurseries in Fort Collins that he can intern at. Because the program is so good at CSU, the local nurseries and gardens benefit greatly. Fort Collins has some of the best landscaping and Xeroscaping in the state of Colorado. He will love Fort Collins, its a very good college town, with hiking to the west in the Poudre River Canyon, Rist Canyon and some areas to cross country ski, like Cameron Pass in these canyons west of Fort Collins. There is easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park, if he brings a car, although the road up Thompson Canyon is closed for six months as its being repaired after a major flood here in 2013, that washed hundreds of miles of mountain roads into Nebraska. That was a rare 1000 year flood though, so don’t worry about it.
We are so excited for him. This sounds right up his alley and my husband and I cant wait to visit on football weekends. Thanks for your response.
My son has been accepted in the ag dept at CSU also. He is going to be an equine science major. We are from TX. He is looking at two other schools still but CSU is his favorite He got into the Honors College too so he is very excited.
