I was wondering how difficult it is to get into the Business School at UIUC; specifically the accounting program. Even more specifically, for an out of state applicant for graduate school. What is the typically accepted GPA? GMAT score? What kind of extracurriculars are they looking for? What is the acceptance rate? Anything info helps!
If I understand correctly, you’re looking at the masters of accounting program at UIUC specifically? The acceptance rate of the MAS (Master’s of Accounting) program is not dramatically different than the acceptance rate into the undergraduate college of business programs, just adjusted to expectations for 4 years of undergraduate experience. Do not need GMAT.
UIUC has two master programs for accounting, Master of Accounting Science (MAS), open only to University of Illinois students and for which the GMAT is not required, and Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA), for which GMAT is required, and I assume you are referring to the latter. Its admission rate is about 38%, and the average admittee has a 660 on the GMAT, a 3.4 college GPA, and majority admitted for that program usually have a year or more of post college work experience (and having such work experience is a definite plus factor in the decision process) .
