How hard will AP Bio be for a sophomore?

Hey!

I’m going to be taking AP Biology next year. Right now I’m in Honors Biology 1. Last semester my average was a 97. Right now, I have a 100, but that’ll probably be about a 97-98 by the end of the year. Along with AP Bio, I’ll be taking Honors Chemistry 1. I don’t know if math matters for AP Bio, but by then I’ll be in either Pre-Calc or AP Calc (if I take Pre-Calc over the summer). Will I be able to manage AP Bio?

I had a 90 in Honors Biology and currently have a C+ in AP Biology. It’s my favorite class this year, even though it is my lowest grade I have ever had.

Fate is inevitable and if you want to major in science, you’ll have to take the course. No point on waiting.

Lol in freshman year I had a 99 two marking periods in bio and 100 for 2 marking periods. It’s sad for me to say, but I didn’t learn anything. I just memorized stuff a couple stuff before tests and did well. But AP BIo is content, understanding, and synthesis. If you’re up to a challenge, I’m sure you will be fine though

Alright, thank you! I’ll take it and I’ll try hard in it. Let’s hope I can get a good grade.

My D said that, at least at her school, AP Bio is easier if you take AP Chem first. She had plenty of classmates who didn’t do that and did absolutely fine, so it’s not a necessity but instead an advantage. You should ask around your school and see if the same applies.

Don’t take 2 lab sciences together! yikes!

@bopper Should I hold off on AP Bio then? I’m taking Honors Earth Sci and Honors Bio right now and last semester I had a 100 in earth sci. Will AP Bio be too difficult with Honors Chem?

Take Bio, then CHem, then Physics and then an AP version of one of those at a minimum. You could probably take AP Physics 1 when you take physics.
