How hard would it be getting into manufacturing engineering?

I’ve decided I’m going to major in manufacturing engineering… How competitive is it? And how impacted is it? I feel like I may have a slight better chance because it’s not as impacted as the other engineering majors, but if they don’t have lots of spots at the school, it would still be pretty competitive because you’d be competing for those spots…

I’m thinking about applying ED, which I most likely am. So maybe that’ll increase my chance a little. Would someone with average stats have a chance? Nothing too impressive, but average…

3.6 Cal poly
26 act
11-15 hours of service
12 semesters of AP
8 semesters of honors

manufacturing engineering is one of the most easiest majors on campus, yet i still think it might be slightly hard to get in even through ED. but i would definitely recommend you apply through ED, since if you get rejected, you just get pushed over to RD

Apply away but, your stats aren’t competitive. Have a back-up plan. Maybe CPP, CSULB?

Are you out of state? You’ll have a better chance. Do you have any of the bonus factors which can boost your chances by 40% (indictacators of high yield)? Education level of parents. Hours per week of E/C and or work (doesn’t matter what you did just how many hours)? are you a vet? private / public high school. Zip code. Does your parent work for CalPoly (in any capacity)?
