How hard?

I know these posts are annoying...

But how difficult is it to get into this school?
I mean...who got rejected/accepted and what are your stats?

I intend to enter as a Wri, Lit, and Pub major,
I got a thirty on my ACT, and plan to retake it...
Really low on my SAT...like, 1880? retaking, also.
And a 720 on the SAT II for lit...
My grades are pretty bad. About a 3.5.
I'm taking the most difficult classes, except in math,
And also taking additional English creds.
My EC's are semi-good... I'm really involved, but in a wide spread of things...(i.e- Radio, drama, editor of newspaper, treasurer of 4-H)
And yeah...

so help? I recently visited and fell in love with the school and the city.

I don't think admissions at Emerson is too difficult... I was accepted into the Honors Program (which you must apply for and which gives you a half tuition scholarship) and these were my stats

SAT 750 V 740 M 720 W
SAT II 780 Lit 660 Math 660 Chem

95 weighted average
a lot of ECs
Varsity Tennis (they wanted me to play on their team)

so yeah, you could prob get into the honors program there. But if you're not sure about writing lit publishing then apply to other schools in the area. I applied to BC BU Tufts and Emerson and in the end I didn't want to force myself into the writing publishing major when I wasn't sure and decided to go to Tufts.

If that's what you want to do though then good luck and make sure you apply to the honors program.

Wow...you have pretty much amazing stats, though.

Thanks, however.

And i was planning on applying to the honors program because, as you said, it pays half the tuition.

Thanks again!

::goes off to work on admissions essays::

It's not very difficult at all, IMO. Honors essay topic was a bit out there, but I was admitted.

What were your stats like?

And i know essays mean A LOT at Emerson... i've started on them now, but they feel pressured..i'unno.

2100 SATs, 102 average (weighted, or something like that) blah blah blah. I'd say your ECs count for more than the stats, though that's not even true since I knew people who got in with doing basically 0 EC activities.

And yeah, essays are important. Just be unique, and be yourself. Don't approach it like a paper.

I used to work in the admissions office, and honestly... as important as your grades are - showing your individualism and creativity is vital at Emerson.

Financial Aid availability at Emerson?
