is it to get the classes you register for?

Im deciding between SLO and UCSB now, and at UCSB I got into the honors program which gives me priority registration. Is this a big deal? Is it generally pretty hard to get the classes you want with general registration?

Getting the classes you register for is easy. You just show up.

Actually registering for said classes is a royal pain, particularly if they are GE’s or a major support class. So, having priority is VERY helpful… Though, to be fair to Cal Poly, honors students here have special sections of key General Education electives, which is still pretty good. 90% of the classes you want but can’t get because they are full are GE’s.

Ah… thank you.

And for the honors sections at Cal Poly, are you saying its easier to get those GE classes?

Yeah, since those sections are for honors students only. That’s the only reason you would want to do honors as far as I can see.
