How has your class rank changed throughout High School?

From the very first time you saw it, which for me was after my first semester as a freshman, up until now?

Mine was 11/~400 until the end of last semester when I moved up to 9/400. I have a good feeling that it'll move up a couple of places when this semester is over also because I've been doing pretty good and two people, above me, are going to the NCSSM. :)
So, it's been pretty idle, but I really want it to move upp. I'm only getting done with my sophomore year so I have plenty of timee.

How about you guyss?

16/640 then 19/620 and now 17/580

:/

1/682 –> 1/642 –> 1/621

1/340—11/350—5/350 hopefully it’ll be higher after this year.

132/415…yea it looks like i dont belong on CC lol

I know I’m top 20 out of 400 or so but Its abnormal to get lower than a A/B average because parents are kinda crazy in the district haha. Then again my school ties people for ranking. I know someone who had a 3.4 and got 15th along with two other people. I think a lot might do this just because you tie places so this number isn’t really accurate.

4/243 -> 4/221 -> 4/something less than 221

Not much mobility.

500/500 --------> 500/500

wutwut

lulz puggly.

not going by uc/csu gpa or weighted or calgrant but by Total gpa…
60/459 > 38/440 > 28/371

2/150 -> 3/140. Fail. I just get screwed cuz I take band cuz I love it and he takes easy college business classes that are weighted more

12/810 –> 5/810 –> 6/810 (Finished) – @Swimfreak001, I hear you about the band classes!

11/243 -> 10/221 -> probably 10/something less than 221

Coming from a HS that doesn’t rank, this is all unfamiliar to me. Where do you guys “see” it? On your report cards, like with your GPA?

I have to go to my guidance counselor to get my rank. ^^ I Hope 2 and 3 aren’t very different in college admissions eyes

How is rank calculated? Are difficulty of classes taken into account? Is it weighted or unweighted grades?

Rank doesn’t matter that much sometimes. If you are in California just make sure you stay within the top 3% of your class, that way you have guaranteed admittance to any UC starting from UCSB.
Just maintain your grades and do a lot of volunteer work

11/322 -> 7/373

I still have my junior and senior year to go

Amen brother. i’m only ~90-100/700 :/

It varies by school, but usually it’s by weighted GPA.

1/~870 –> 7/xxx? –> 1/xxx? –> 1/732

What’s weird is that I’m pretty sure more people have been moving into my district than moving out, offsetting the number of dropouts…so I guess my school just has a really high dropout rate? o.O

My school calculates rank solely by unweighted GPA. However, they calculate valedictorian by 60% GPA, 20% ACT, 20% AP/Honors courses
