Just wondering because Pepperdine's my first choice. I also applied to chapman and LMU and their boards seem to be much more active. I'm wondering how that reflects on the school. So I guess, what made you look into pepperdine? or what do you like about it besides the obvious answer of the view/location? haha:)

I know, This board seemed more active last year when I wasn’t applying haha.
This school is my top choice. It has been ever since I was in high school (I’m a transfer student.)
Surprisingly, the view/location isn’t a big selling point for me. I live by a beach so it’s nice, but it’s an everyday thing lol. I can see why so many people would love it though, coming from other areas! It’s just kind of every thing else that Pepperdine has to offer. Small campus, connections with teachers, people that are always there to help, a close knit community, wonderful academics, among other things.

Good luck to you! I’m so nervous haha. pretty soon though! Judging by the way they’ve announced admission offers in the past, they’ll release them on the 16th or so?

It’s probably my highest backup school if I get a scholarship. I would love to live in Malibu and it’s a great school but it’s not my top school for a few reasons, mostly the fact it’s a smaller school, not in the city like my #1 and a private school.

^abj7610- have they released admissions that early? that would be awesome. I was really hoping to hear earlier than April 1st like it says online!

ghuskies - according to people on this forum, Pepperdine has released decisions around that time. I hope it’s sooner rather than later, I’m going crazy over here! haha

I got an email today for an address verification saying Pepperdine is finishing applications and preparing to mail them out today so that’s a good sign!

I got that email too! I am soooo nervous haha good luck to you all! Hopefully we’ll know on WaveNet by the end of the week!

Hi, I am also a transfer applying for the Fall '12 semester at Pepperdine. Would you like to share and compare stats wise? I am so stressed and am finding it difficult to find any comparable information in the hopes of giving me some kind of idea on my chances.

I am a California Resident,
Community College, 70 credits with average GPA of 3.4. All pre-reqs completed for “Pre-Bus Admin” (Acct 1/2, Micro, Marco, Stats, Bus Calc, Intro Bus.).
Deeply involved in local Catholic Parish as youth/adult team leader
Letters of Rec from Eng Professor and Pastor
CA Licensed Realtor
Studied Abroad (Spain)
Published in College observation journal
Toured campus, meet with admissions rep for bus program and also sat in on class.

Anticipate admissions decision by April 1st. Please put me out of my misery and post stats/admissions decisions. Thank you!

Hi there, Mazemaker!

Your stats sound like mine for communications, but my school didn’t have one of those transfer guides (probably because I’m from northern california) so I just followed the one they used for SMC, and I got them all completed. Did your school have one? student council, full time sports, school, and work. I keep stressing out because I didn’t put all of my community service on my application, because a lot of it was done in high school and I didn’t know if they were focusing on that or what… I wish I could go back and re-write a lot of things, oh well!
I too did the tour of the campus & the info session.

So jealous that you studied in Spain! I would love to exchange there if I had the opportunity.

Question: What did you guys put for the question “The admission office would laugh if they knew I…” ?

Haha I totally forgot about that question until you mentioned it!! I have this weird obsession with cupcake related things and I wrote about that and how I collect things such as cupcake luggage tags definitely makes people laugh in real life so why not?!

I think you all can feel pretty confident that decisions will be released this Friday, March 16. From what I understand, they finalized decisions last Friday and are “getting their ducks in a row” (e.g. the email) to release them on Friday. Best of luck to all!

Do you say that because last year they released decisions the Friday after the email?

Well, also last year they sent out the first round of admission notifications at about this time. But from what I understand, because I watched these feeds last year, they sent an equal amount of rejection, wait-listing and acceptance letters.

Admission rate is 30% so that sounds right!

Yeah that’s where I came up with the 16th as the notification day.

I CANT WAIT TO HEAR BACK!!! Hope it comes on the 16th!

I wish this board wasn’t so dead!! At least a couple of us are excited!

i can’t wait to hear!! hopefully its tomorrow (:

Can you guys pray that I get in and of course I’ll pray for you guys to. And that we hear back tomorrow!

GREAT idea!! I’ll pray for you all and please pray for me too:) hopefully we’ll all be receiving some great news tomorrow!!

Tomorrow’s the big day!!!
