I am thinking about Rice, vanderbilt, Duke, Stanford, MIT, Georgia Tech, LSU, UVA
I know i can go to LSU on full ride already but want to go OOS

as high as you possibly can get....

Why would you settle for aything less, or try to achieve anything more

I dont about stanford or duke but u seem to have a pretty good chance at the others. and do some community service.

Oh I got alot i forgot to mention
60+ hours at a hospital last summer
30+ from Sophmore and Freshman year
Plan to do alot over the summer

Because Duke is harder to get into than MIT?

I thought MIT is so much harder to get into than Duke

MIT is harder to get into Duke 14% vs. 22% to be in fact

don't apply to UVA cause you would take my spot lol

Your current scores are low. If you get them up it will help a lot. MIT and Stanford even if your scores go up to 1350 they are big reaches. Duke is a reach with the higher scores, and a huge reach with the current scores. UVA is still a bit of a reach with the predicted 1350 but quite possible. Vanderbilt, GA Tech, and LSU you are in, and you're probably in Rice too.

I think i can get 750 math or higher SAT and 600 CR about
My SAT II will be great in Math IIC b/c im good like that and Chemistry i should do straight.

Apply to any school you want even if its a reach. 1350 is a GREAT score despite what people on this board say. And it's very close to the 50th percentile range for ivy's even (not quite but its close and remember, 25% of the students at the ivys fall below the mid range!) Ivy's aren't only going to look at SAT and people on these boards seem to think its like the MOST important thing but really, the top schools (and all schools) are looking for a diverse student body. Stanford turned down tons of 1600 SAT's and the admission officer said they will consider you if you have scored higher than 1100 (and they HAVE accepted people with those stats if they wrote amazing essays, have good EC's, etc) If you dont apply you have no chance. Apply to a few reaches and some places that are matches/safetys that you would be happy at. Go for it because you never know!

"MIT is harder to get into Duke 14% vs. 22% to be in fact"

Oh man, I guess I should have put that my previous post was dripping in sarcasm.

Kaitylin is mostly right. 28 isn't bad by any means, don't make me laugh. However, for the school's your looking at, up it to increase your calculable odds.

However, top colleges want a diverse freshman class NOT diverse students. They all must have one thing in common--a strong academic background and the ability to keep up with colleagues in the rigorous curriculum.

I think some community college would be a nice start for you, and then you could transfer.
