How horribly strict is this 11:59 pm EST deadline?

So I was late submitting my supplement & commonapp, and it registered the next day's date. Has anyone ever been accepted when your application was late??? Are there any alumni/staff or current students who can answer this question?

I feel stupid for even asking b/c yes, applicants should have not waited till the last minute.... So whatever happened has happened, and it was several minutes late. Will emailing & calling help to rectify this situation? Or just forget it & move on -- nothing else to do, and don't expect to be considered...?

I did the same thing… just late by a couple minutes. I also submitted late to Swarthmore. While now on Common App, it shows that my application to Swarthmore has been downloaded, on princeton it still shows “submitted”. Hope someone can the question.

You will get the most accurate answer by calling the admissions office.

I also submitted my CommonApp three or four minutes late (supplement a few minutes before the deadline) and it shows as submitted on the 2nd.

urabt2c or actionable, did you get an answer from the admissions office?

Also, to anyone else who applied to Princeton – can you check to see if your CommonApp is marked as “Downloaded”? Mine isn’t - if yours is, that’s a bad sign.

In the past, late apps were accepted. As I understand it, most schools want as many apps as they can get (as long as you’re not really really late).

Deuteronomy, my commonapp/application wasn’t downloaded yesterday. But it looks like it just got downloaded tonight, showing 1/3 date.

I don’t understand – you said if it shows “downloaded,” it’s bad? I mean for any applicant to be considered, all the sections are eventually going to be downloaded, isn’t it? So because yours isn’t yet downloaded, and someone else’s is, it means it’s a bad sign of something for the downloaded person? Please clarify. Thanks.

I submitted all my apps two hours after the deadline, and they were all downloaded the next day in the afternoon.

Is it okay if I submitted my app like a week late? I still haven’t gotten any email from Princeton, and I can’t register for the portal so that I can submit an arts supplement… and the due date for the arts supplement was on the 6th…HELPPPP!!!

I would send the admissions office an e-mail explaining your situation and ask them for the best steps to submit your arts supplement. They are very helpful and will make a note in your file if needed so that everyone you contact thereafter understands what is going on.

Cantiger - are you applying for Princeton 2018? Do you know if the arts supplement portal is actually still accessible?

i have just opened my commonapp account.i know i am horribly late.to gather all papers and essays,i just might not be able to maintain 15th january deadline. can i still submit my application?

The application deadline for Princeton was the 1st, not the 15th. [Application Dates & Deadlines | Princeton University](http://www.princeton.edu/admission/applyingforadmission/deadlines/)

Sorry @coolbeans123 - I missed your earlier question! My son is a current sophomore at Princeton so no, I’m not applying! =) We have had wonderful experiences with the admission office…give them a call and they will walk you through how to get your arts supplement to them. They really do want the best students and are understanding that mistakes/oversights happen - even to great students. Don’t let the fear of “what will they think” immobilize you. A person who takes steps to correct a mistake honestly shows maturity.
