thanks furyshade! I took the SAT in march, and got a 670 on the math too. Since it is my weakest out of the three, I really want to focus on improving it. Did you just take practice tests? Or did you use some other prep books?

Yeah i should have been more careful. I coulda easily got above 2300.

i got a tutor. math is my strongest subject i just really have trouble taking tests, i get very anxious and make a lot of dumb mistakes. the trick is just getting used to it, take a lot of timed practice tests. my tutor was unbelievable, he raised my score from a 2050 to a 2250. i kinda wish i focused more on CR, but can't complain. he also helped me get a 780 on math II (shoulda been an 800, ran out of time on the last question and it was an easy graphing question). imo if you can find a good tutor and can afford it it is totally worth it. don't take princeton review, i did and i spent most of the time teaching people simple math. those courses are designed to get average scorers an 1800, not to get a decent scorer over 2100. my final breakdown was 800 math, 760 writing, 690 reading (over estimated my ability on that one) and 780 math II. its all about getting comfortable with the test and having someone else to point out your mistakes. i found myself saying "oh, that was dumb, i shoulda gotten that right" a lot but would keep making mistakes. when you have someone to force you to understnad why you made a stupid mistake and watch you take the test you learn a lot. i kinda wish i got an SAT tutor earlier, woulda helped me for testing throughout HS. i cant complain with my score, well within range/above the average of the schools i want to go to except a few

is Hot Words a book? or can i find the words online?

Do you really advocate making up books? I guess it helps... but if you're caught, you risk getting like a 0 don't you?
