how i got into stanford: the chelsea clinton story

it was a cold day in february. My mom gave birth to me. 13 years later, my dad became president.

the end

um, that would be true of any presidential offspring. How do you think Georgie Bush got into Yale?

haha - god post sir.

eravial08- that's actually the second part of this series

if anybody want to check out the george bush series, visit the yale forum

Dude, what's your problem?

She graduated from Stanford with distinction. She's published three papers, became a board member for some national ballet organization, and has worked for numerous charities.

Given what she's done, how would she not be qualified? Apparently she was smart enough to distinguish herself from many of the stanford students -in academics.

I don't necessarily like the Clintons, but you're a huge tool.

did she get accepted to stanford at age 13...? ^i agree, except i do like the clintons

i think michaeljackson (oh geez) just wanted to bring some fun to the intense EA-decision-anxious forum. i like the clintons, too, and i did have a hearty laugh at this thread. relax, kknight, everyone here on CC has a problem.

Bill Clinton = Rhodes Scholar, no background; Hillary Rodham = tough lawyer; offspring = intelligent and hard-working

George W. Bush = town drunk (of Midland, TX, of all places), rich daddy; Laura Bush = librarian; offspring = MIP

George W. Bush got into Yale about 20 years before his dad became president, so being a presidential offspring was no help to him in college admissions. Being from a prominent, rich, powerful, politically-connected, double Yale legacy family certainly was a big admissions boost for George, but being the son of a president was not.

Isn't George's mother came from a well to do family?

Chelsea Clinton was a top student at an academically challenging hs. She had sky-high SATs and sky-high grades. Rumor has it she was a bit of a math genius - I remember reading someplace that a PhD in economics couldn't believe the level of math she was doing in high school. She was also a voracious reader, an accomplished ballet dancer who performed with a nationally ranked ballet company.

Chelsea Clinton would have been a good Stanford candidate regardless. But having her dad as president didn't hurt. ;)

The Ivies and other top rated schools, of course want to educate the next generation of world leaders. Who ever said admission was solely based on academic achievement. I know a young woman at Stanford, talented athlete, that scored less than 1900 on the new SAT. If you really want to get into one of these great schools and don't have the scores, grades, or family influence, take up the bassoon.

hey everybody- why do you think she did so good in school?
