How important are alumni relatives who aren't parents or grandparents?

<p>Let's say a sibling, an uncle, or an aunt is a Yale alumni. The Yale application asks for relatives who were alumni. Are you considered half a legacy? Do these connections matter very little at all?</p>

<p>These connections (unless accompanied by huge money) don’t matter. Even a direct legacy through parents is at best a weak tip at Yale.</p>
