How important are AP Tests?

Hi, I took 2 AP's sophomore year
4 AP's my Junior year
and I'm taking 5 AP's this year

my scores are:
AP BIO :4
AP CALC :1
AP PHYSICS :3
AP USH :4
AP GOV :3
AP ENGLISH :3

(I'm taking chem, english (there are 2 ap english's), economics, stats, french, all ap's this year)

i AM ONLY PLANNING TO SEND IN MY SCORES FOR BIO AND USH, what will the colleges think about my other ap's (since I won't send them my scores) will they count it as bad? should I just send my scores even though there are 3's and 1's

or will colleges not factor in that I didn't send in AP's?

thanks

I would discourage you from sending any AP scores. Schools will be able to see on your transcript that you have taken AP classes and it will only raise questions in their minds if you send only two of the six scores. They might assume that your scores are worse than the reality.

After you have been accepted, you can send all your scores for them to evaluate for credit and/or placement.

I would send all of them except for calc. maybe a math II subject test could take its place if you have one

You may want to cancel the score of AP calculus.

Just a heads up: some high school transcripts will automatically show your AP test scores. My son took APUSH and AP Physics last year when he was a junior. BEcause he didn’t take the ccorrect AP Physics class for his intended major, he wasn’t going to have the score sent. I recently called one of the schools he is applying to and they said they had the AP scores from his high school transcript…So it may show them on your transcript. You may want to ask your GC if they list the scores on the transcript.

most universities only accept scores of 4 and up.

do your best on the rest of the AP tests you have left…they really count big time (if you score 4 or 5) because then u might not have to take a class for that when u get to college.

i got a 4 on my AP Spanish test…and when I got to my university, i didnt have to take one of the 3 GE’s i was required to take.

so i was SUPER thrilled because that meant i had room to take one of my other important classes…AND if u get enough of those 4 and 5’s…u could maybe finished college early by a semester…and leave more room for other important classes.
