How important are classes that aren't related to my major?

I am curious how much weight colleges put on classes that aren't related to your major for transfer purposes. For example, if I am an engineer major, will a couple of B's from an art history or geography course affect their decision?

I would say in your specific case, it won’t be an issue, because those are usually elective courses. If it’s a pre-req (English, Foreign Language (sometimes), Science, Math, Social Science), I think it’s still important to do well.
