How important are EC's & Comm Service?

Just curious, since I dont have a whole lot of either. Ive done about 30 hours of teaching kids to ice skate at my local hockey rink, and plan on doing 10-20 more hours this summer of something else for the community. But my academics are pretty solid: I have a 4.22 UW GPA and all honors/AP classes. 2110 on the SATS, which I will be taking again. Im hoping my essays will be more important that ECs and CS…what do you think?

Are you involved in clubs? Sports? Church?

They help a lot. But if there are any activities you've been in, keep doing them. It is a lot more impressive to colleges for an applicant to stay steady with 1 or 2 activities for several years than for the applicant to suddenly pick up 5-6 activities their junior or senior year.

yea im in FBLA and i play on the varsity golf team (since frosh year, ill be captain next year). i also run track in the fall, and played JV hockey soph year.

Weird...I went from the Brown board to the Amherst board and found the same post on both! I was seriously confused for a second.

hah yea i posted it in a few (midd, amherst, brown, and wesleyan).
