How important are EC's in the transfer admissions process?

I'm aiming quite high in terms of universities I'd like to transfer to. I start CC in the Fall. How much (if any) weight will my extracurricular activities hold? Thanks in advance!

Note: I have very little EC's from high school. Yes, I royally ****ed up the first year and a half, but I'm willing to put the time in.

When I talked to Brown admissions they kept emphasizing how they like to see students who have really taken advantage of the resources around them at their current university. So, yes EC’s will def hold a good amount of weight. As long as participating in EC’s won’t bring your GPA down considerably, I would most defintely take advantage of the programs and organizations your university has to offer.

At top schools, they will matter a lot. We’re not talking about joining schools clubs. What they will want to see is an area of interest outside of the classroom with real accomplishment.
