<p>I’m just wondering how important essays are in the admission factor.</p>
<p>I’m applying to SC,Irvine,Riverside,and Merced.</p>
<p>I've been told that UCB + UCLA put a little more weight on the essay. As for other UC's, it mainly a matter of numbers (GPA + SATs).</p>
<p>While the other UC campuses are MORE numbers-driven, great essays can make up for a so-so gpa (based on that campuses's stats).</p>
<p>From my experience with my friend in the class of 08 / 12... the essays mattered more for UCB and UCLA nad UCSD, but the otheres were definately if you had the stats you got in and if you didnt they they rejected you.</p>
