HOW important are essays?

<p>Okay, the title may sound a bit rhetorical (of course they are very very important). But seriously, are ECs more important or personal statements, or vice versa? </p>

<p>do adcoms really care that much for essays? Do they get bored of reading them (I really wonder)?</p>

<p>HOW does one make her essay stand out =]</p>

<p>It depends on the school. Larger state schools are much more likely to consider essays only as tip factors.</p>
