Hey guys, taking an ACT w/ Writing some time before 2011.. Recently I was looking at a lot of sample essays, and I noticed that while some only had 1 concrete example, some essays have concrete examples in every single support paragraph.

Assuming that they used the examples effectively and integrated them coherently into their argument, which is more preferable to ACT Essay scorers?

I have the same question.

I think you’re asking the wrong question. They aren’t precisely looking for examples. They are looking for you to both communicate efficiently and write correctly. Now a big part of efficient communication is providing examples. You don’t have to use literary works or historical events. Just provide support for your sweeping generalizations.

Edit: … provide support for your generalizations.
