If I am looking to major in Math/Science fields how important is it to have done a significant amount of foreign languages. I did up to French III at the end of my sophomore year and as a junior next year I instead want to do research in Computer Science.

The other courses I will be taking are:

AP Calc BC
AP Physics C
AP US
AP English
Honors Acting
Independent Research (Computer Science)

That should be fine. I still highly encourage you to take the SAT II in French as you don't need that high of a score to pass out of the language requirement at Stanford. If you can do very well on the SAT II that would be great, but even if you don't I think as long as you take through French III that should be perfectly fine. It's best to pursue what you really are passionate about. Just beware that many colleges do have language requirements, and you will probably be required to take a quarter or semester of language in college.

According to Stanford, they like to see 3+ years of foreign language. That is typical, although I believe that there are now some schools who require four years. I would focus on your passions, and make sure you don't need a fourth year from any other school you are considering.

I personally only took two years of French and I got in :)

to get out of the lang requirement, you only need a 640 on the French SATII
