How important are freshman and sophomore year?

I've had a cumulative 3.5 GPA through my sophomore year at a very good private school taking 2 honors classes (most you can take until junior year). I have great extracurriculars and I test well. Next year I'm going to a very good boarding school. If I do well there my junior and senior years (3.7+ GPA), will I have a good chance applying to ivy league schools?
I have a hook but I don't think its influential enough to bring a 3.5 up to ivy league standards (which is why I want at least a 3.7)

Also, if I switch schools, will colleges look at my GPA at each school separately and weigh the one that I was at Junior/Senior year more?

Have you asked the counselors at your very good private school what they think?

nope and schools over I’m switching schools so thats why im asking on here

Junior year is considered the most important year, so as long as you show improvement from the previous two, it should be okay. Some schools, like Princeton, don’t even factor in Freshman year into their gpa calculations.

ok thanks .
