In highschool I messed up, I had like a 70 transcript average at the end of high school. I now go to a private college, and about to start my second semester of sophomore year and with 46 credits completed so far I have a 3.97 GPA. I want to transfer to Vandy and am about to finish the common apps but I want to know what from prior experience you guys feel my chances are of getting into with my 3.97 GPA and I have some experience interning at law firms and I was part of a mock trial club in my current college during my freshman year. My SAT score was average, it was 1700, so what do you guys think my chances are? I know Vandy has a holistic admissions process, so would I be an ideal candidate?

Your college GPA is great and does mitigate the HS one. Vandy does weigh test scores in sophomore applicants, so your obvious good performance in college would seem to make a case for you. Activities and your reason for transferring will be important.
