Richmond doesn’t offer interviews as part of the admissions process. For the Richmond Scholars, if you are selected, you are invited to campus to interview. Go to the admissions page and you’ll see all this info and more.

UR has informal interviews conducted by undergrads. My daughter was very well prepared, had done a “practice” interview at another school, knew the right questions to ask, was prepared for about any question they could throw at her…and it was over in about 10 minutes. Her interviewer asked, “why do you want to go to Richmond?” That was the only question she was asked. Then the interviewer came out and met my wife and I and we were done. It was really a waste of time. I doubt it had any bearing on the admissions process.

I had an interview with a Richmond alum in my area. It was very relaxed but she did ask me about the classes I’m taking, extracurriculars, etc.
The interviews are also a chance for prospective students to learn more about Richmond and I found it very helpful. I believe they do submit some sort of write-up but I doubt it has much of an effect on admissions decisions.

An admission’s officer came to my area and conducted interviews with alumni for prospective students. Pretty laid back, at a panera bread.

Alumni interviews are very informal, although us alums do file a report with admissions afterwards, so don’t take informal as unimportant.
