i just had a lot of my interviews.
several of my schools were really into me, they told my dad during the parent interview that they would "highly recommend" me and that they hoped to see me from mar. 10~apr. 10 where the kids come back for visits or something like that...
does this mean something?
some of my schools didn't tell me the same thing...
is it ok to assume that i have a slight chance to get into those schools that DID say it?

Its safe to say you have a slight chance of getting into all the schools you applied too. A good interview never hurts...

I got the same from all 3 schools I've interviewed at... Since no one but the admissions officer who interviewed you can say for sure, it's a maybe.

Not to burst any bubbles, of course!

Same feedback as well. I got letters and post cards from the interviewers and some of the faculty members saying they enjoyed speaking to me and I really looked like I bright individual that would make a very potential addition to their school. It was nice to know that the schools hadn't forgotten about me, but I didn't take it too deeply.

I would say that don't try to get influenced by your own opinion of which schools that you thought were "into you" or anything. I'm sure if you have a decent application (3.6+ GPA, 85+ SSAT's, a few awards and EC's here and there etc. etc.) you should have a chance at any school.

Has anyone heard a comment like "we'll highly reccomend you" from an exeter interviewer? He told my parents he thought I was "really, really mature" but as for a reccomendation comment.. I got no such thing :(

i received that comment from my exeter interviewer

but don't worry kemmek! interviews aren't everything! i think that essays are really important too.

my exeter tour guide said that her interview went badly because she was all tense and stuff but i mean, she got in, right? so it shows that interviews aren't everything...

haha, i just answered my own q about how important interviews are...

At the most selective schools, interviewers may be assessing the maturity level of the applicant as well as gauging the applicant's interest in the school. Maturity is a very important factor for those applying to the ninth grade.

i'd say yes. on paper, people don't know who you really are, but up front and personal you can't really hide who you are

hotchkissjin-

i think it depends on people though...
some people are really shy in their interviews, but their essays could be really strong.
oh well.. it's sort of too late now... i've turned in my essays and i've finished all my essays

can anyone post the link on the SPS's website that has some of the interview questions you can ask? I saw it on one post but I can't seem to find it.

but if they are shy during interviews, doesn't that mean that they're shy generally? but i didn't say they were more important than essays, i meant that putting down a bunch of ec's on paper can't really describe you

ah, sorry. i thought you were talking about essays.

except you know, the interviewee could've been really shy because they were really nervous about the interview and stuff...
