I am a college junior, who is involved in various extracurricular activities. However, in putting together my resume, I realized that I don't have very much leadership experience with my clubs, in that i'm not president, or like an officer. Will this hurt me when im applying for entry level jobs after graduation?

someone please answer.

I never got the leadership thing. Like seriously. How many people can be president of a club? And I always find it a bit selfish when a person is the president of like 4 clubs but rarely show up because they are too busy trying to fulfill their role in different clubs, having to neglect 2 of them every other week or having to leave early.

Did you do any internships? Maybe even small jobs over the summer or during the school year? Try looking for an internship or two to participate in. I personally think that looks better than ECs, but that’s my two cents.

Well. Don’t you need leadership to distinguish yourself in order to have a stab at those competitive intern positions?

I’m thinking about becoming a tutor, since it would qualify under leadership. But I’m really not looking forward to it, because I can earn Way more money doing something else like sitting around at the front desk at the gymnasium or driving around town in a bus, provided I pass my trainings and stuff… you know?

How is tutoring leadership?

You don’t always have to go for competitive internship positions initially. It’s good to start small, like looking at less competitive internships for the experience and to build your resume. And then you build your way up.

In my opinion, work experience now a days is more important because you have been in the work place environment and if you can get a good recommendation from your internship, that’s even better.

Not really. Decent grades, strong work ethic, and the ability to present yourself properly will suffice. In some instances you won’t need any of those.
