I am applying as a transfer to a lot of schools, my GPA last semester was a 3.66 consisting of 3 A’s an A- and a B-. However, like last semester, mid term grades are not that good. I am expecting to have a 3.66 at the highest and a 3.33 at the lowest, the grades I am possibly expecting are 3 B+'s an A- and an A. I am, however expecting to get much higher grades by the end of the semester, I just did not do that well on my first tests like last semester. Would my lower scores greatly hurt my chances at getting into schools? If not, how far off would I need to be for it to really affect me.
Most students have lower grades mid-semester than they do at the end of the semester - that’s pretty normal. If you were expecting an F, I’d be concerned, but the grades you’re describing sound pretty consistent with the grades you got in the fall. I wouldn’t worry about it.
