How important are midyear reports?

I've got REALLY bad senioritis this year, but my GPA for my past years are really good and have increased since freshman year. How bad do you have to do on your midyear report for a college to reject you after accepting you?

Generally, the rule is don't let your GPA drop more than 1.0 or a full letter.

k, thanks, I'm gonna have to start working now >.<

Do not let your GPA drop in your senior year. If you are applying RD, your first semester's GPA will count. God forbid if you are waitlisted to all of your top choices, then good third quarter GPA will help you. Worst case scenario - if you don't get into any school you want and you want to transfer later, then your senior GPA will matter. My daughter was unfortunately in that predicatment last year. She thought she was going to be done for ED, then it got dragged to RD, then waitlisted, finally acceptance in May. She did end up with the highest GPA senior year because she was the only senior still studying, everyone bailed out after Feb.

dang, that sucks.
Thanks for the heads up
