that's missing the whole point of our board. That's what we live for!

and that's why i didn't pick that question. I like the open ones, and I got to talk a lot about myself, very directly.

I think by asking about a person who influenced you, they expect you to talk about the impact... even an essay about how someone else influenced you should focus a lot on yourself.

lol kebree! JINX

ahhh, here we go again....

lol :D
just making sure he understands the rules here. We digress. Love it or leave it.

diee sixty second rule.
I am typing uber slowly to pass the time.

wow... I guess my essays were pretty short...

Tell us about yourself... 484
What talent, accomplishment, pursuit... 275
Year off: 268
Summers: 265

right. making sure I understand the rules... thx boss

lol just kidding PW~
:D

no, I think you stuck to the rules ilovemath, and we didn't...

no i wasnt kidding. i was so serious...

lol. the thing is.. with essays, EVERYONE here writes well i assume, or at least most pton applicants write well.. so i just thot it is hard to distinguish most of the better essays since everyone's is so well done... i just dont think that essays will help much b/c unless they are obviously better than the already well written essay pool , it wont help much...

Well like I said before I don't think they're judging you by how well you write, stylistcally. I think it's more..whether you show ambition and drive and creativity and all that jazz.

after looking at what some other people have written, including those who are applying to the top schools, even princeton - i am extremely confident in my own essays, so im sure princeton will be able to distinguish.

I think what I remeber from the Amherst video is that colleges can point out bad essays, but they do not fall in love with the good ones

i think that the college essays are really important. what do u think sets apart people with extremely high sat scores and lotsa EC's? i think the recs and essays are wat make u and break u =P

My essays are almost 1.75x the suggested length :-( Though I apologized in the What else.. form.

lol did you really? like, you actually wrote "i apologize" or you just wrote something short for that so they won't have to read anymore?

Well I actually wrote 'I apologize for the length of my essays' and even mentioned I could write a couple more if I were allowed to... sounds anal to me now, though - but still better having said what I wanted to in my essays rather than regretting it later. I'm ready for denial anyway.

I have no idea what I'm ready for :/

My friends are asking me to call them and tell them the decison, but I really don't want to if I don't get in! >.<

Actually, one friend suggested to text her and type "orange" for in and "black" for not in, and I was like "but both of those are pton colors!!"
lol

zant, are you in school right now? what time did you go to bed last night?
