How important are SAT Subject scores to the top/prestigious universities?

I just received my scores today for my SAT Subject test in Chemistry, and I bombed it :( I was expecting at least a 730 so I didn't cancel my score right after the test, but it turns out I got a 690. the SAT Subject tests aren't really my strength (I got a 710 on the Spanish, which isn't too hot either)...I have a high GPA, AP test scores, and SAT score (the non-subject one), but the Subject tests are killing me. How bad will the 690 in Chemistry look to the top-tier colleges like Duke, Stanford, Rice, etc.? Will it just kill any chance of admission to those schools?

bump please… I am desperate to find out

If you’re desperate to find out, why don’t you contact the colleges? Any information you get hear is opinion rather than useful data. The colleges will be happy to tell you.

Too important if you ask me.

study harder and retake chem…

I think you should call the schools. I am not sure if all schools really look closely at these scores. I think the SAT is weighted much more heavily.

Sigh…you people are no help…
