How important are SAT Subject Tests in the University of Pennsylvania's admissions?

I would really like to go to the University of Pennsylvania, but am a bit worried as to my Subject Tests. I noticed on the University's website that they request that liberal arts majors (which I would be) should take a language test, which I am afraid to do, as I don't think my French is good enough to do well. Also, it recommends that people in science-related fields (also me, as one of my majors will be anthropology) take a science subject test. I took Chemistry, and only got a 650, after taking it twice and studying hard each time.

Any advice?? Thanks! :]

the language test is not necessary

but highly recommended anyway

in general, a science and a humanities test would probably be good - do your very best.

The tests that you take don't necessarily matter. TAKE YOUR STRONGEST SUBJECTS.

Alright, thank you! :]

many people get in w/o the language test. it really doesn't matter if you are going to be able to do better on other tests.

i didn't think my french was good enough for the sat ii either, but i took it and ended up with a 770. go figure.
