I'm scared i might slip a little bit, compared to my previous grades, because chemistry is just really hard!... how important are senior year 1st semester grades?
ps. i'm really only having dramatic problems with chemistry.

They are extremely important if they are examined. Some kids are accepted without the colleges even seeing those grades if they applied EA, ED, or early rolling.

they are THE MOST important senior year grades, since most colleges only see first semester.

If you don't want colleges to dwell on your first quarter grades, apply EA or rolling and have your transcript sent now. Once you are accepted, they will only revoke it for terrible performance

I think the OP means how important relative to GPA, SATS, etc. I am curious to know myself.:)

are 10th and 9th grades important, for applications ?

i'm worried about this too. physics is really bad.

I have the same problem and I'm worried... physics and spanish AP are really hard.

yeah i might get a B- or C+ in ap physics. it's the hardest course in the school, and I'm not the best with numbers to begin with.

same problem over here...except with ap macro.

ha, same problem here. except in ap lit. :(

lets say i do get accepted to top engineering schools, would they rescind their decisions if my science grades went from an A+(last year) to an A(this year) or even an A-. I am currently killing brain cells with physics AP AND chem AP along with 4 other AP classes.

haha luofernando, you crack me up. worried about an A+ to an A.

YES MY GRADES SUX NOW OMG - so really, how important are they compared to grades from the past 2 years?

lol @ futurexreject, well its hard for one to do worse in one's favorite subjects. I love physics and chem, but back to back sciences in the afternoon is just too much. Plus i do research outside of school which really kills me. So i was just wondering if colleges reject only when grades go from like an A to straight up crash and burn.

Yeah, that's pretty much it, luof. I can't even see the most selective colleges rescinding for anything above the C range.

So, any consensus? If you have all As except one low B/C+ would it shoot your chances? (with As the rest of high school)

Why kind of effect would it have? Is it more important for them to see that you're still taking many APs and getting As in all but one of them?
