How important are subject tests?

<p>So I was taking the AP Physics test and decided to take the physics subject test as well since I was already studying a ton for the ap test. I got an 800, but when I went to check the score report, it said I was only in the 90th percentile. In terms of the 2400 point SAT, that would be like getting an 1800.</p>

<p>How important are subject tests for colleges? A lot of them don't even require them.</p>

<p>Due to the caliber of students that take the subjects, they are less about standing out in a good way and more about not standing out in a bad way.</p>

<p>anything near or above 700 should be fine</p>
