How important are teacher recs?!?!?!

<p>I'm planning on majoring in Biology and when I got my Biology teacher's rec back, the letter was nice, but she checked only top 5 and 10% on the check sheet. Is this a problem if I'm planning to apply to Ivy leagues? I have another recommendation from a social studies teacher that puts me in all the top few she has ever had. </p>

<p>There's no way you're top 1% for everything, I personally would get more out of the rec that gave varied rankings than the one that gave best ever for everything (because I wouldn't take that one totally seriously). Don't worry about it. The letter itself is more important anyway.</p>
