Since Brown seems to be the only school that requires more than 5 short responses, I am just curious as to how much of my admissions may be based off of these essays?

Some of the questions (proudest creation, where have you lived etc) seem to be incredibly tricky to handle.

In general, do you guys think schools that require more supplement essays weigh the main common application essay less? Or do you think that Brown is merely curious of our lives?

Because the Open Curriculum allows a great deal of flexibility – and a corresponding chance to flounder if you’re not strongly self-directed – fit is more important to Brown than to many of its peer schools. Consider your essay questions a way of demonstrating that fit – that desire and ability to pursue your own choices and interests and to adapt to change without handholding every step of the way.

:O wow just knew that. Thanks, LoremIpsum. My biggest concern right now is that I will sound too pleading, like over-showing: “Hey Brown! Look at me, this independent lovely person!”

Btw OP, best of luck to both of us in Brown admissions…
