I got a C score of 33 but my English was a 27. Is that fine?

I am also wondering how colleges look at each section.
I did okay on math and reading (31, 30), but my english isn't that great (26), and my science is just horrible (24)....

Do colleges look at your individual sections or JUST the composite?
Is science a really significant section?

It depends on the college & program. I talked to admissions people from UMich and Michigan State, and different departments there care more about different things (for example, the college of engineering for both schools was mainly interested in math and science).

If the school you're applying to is famous for an area that corresponds with a section you did poorly in, then retaking it is probably a good idea.

Also, no college I talked to cared much about the essay and said it was too subjective. All they wanted to see was that you actually took the essay version. That's the part I was worried about last year (I had a 33 C and no section below a 30 but my essay was only 7).

Anyway good luck if either of you decide to retake it

I know at GA Tech, they only look at Math and English.
