how important/final is AI?

Not to be obnoxious, (and I appologize if I am) but...

I calculated my academic index and it is a 4 (210)... but if I use grades instead it is an 8 (225). That's kind of a jump -and I know it's not because of grade inflation, because I go to a magnet school and all that jazz. (even the GPA is low, in my opinion, because having a 95% avg means I have a 4.15, but anyway)

do adcoms adjust AI or really actually read your transcript etc... or do they skim everything and use AI to calculate your academic ability??

No colleges really use AI anymore.

Ivies don't use AI anymore either?

I'm pretty sure they use it, but they don't use it for admissions. Athletes are required to have similar AIs to all other students, and it is used to ensure that this happens.

michelle hernandez lied to me!!

okay, so I have nothing to worry about?

either way, my rank is a weak point in my application. Will that hurt me a lot or a little?

I would believe Hernandez over anyone here. Rank is mosre important than GPA, probably the biggest single factor.

the ivies still use the AI.

Allen Iverson is very important, especially when he sits down with his lappy and profits of its artificial intelligence by winning his fantasy football league.

rank is more important than gpa? what if my school doesnt rank?

Don't worry about it, unless you can estimate. At Brown, for example, 52.1% of applicants submitted no rank.

thanks warblersrule86 :), how would they estimate my rank though?

Usually when your school doesn't rank, they get some sort of information about the GPA distribution, such as range for each decile or something. They can basically tell from that where you fall.
