I completely screwed up. I submitted everything on time, supplements, teacher rec, and I paid the admission fee. But somehow I managed to forget to press submit on the common app and so I missed the EA deadline. I only found this out today when I tried to check my admission status.

I've been crying for about three hours. My parents insist its not a big deal, but I know it is and I'm so upset. What's your take on how important early action is to getting in? I feel like i'm not going to get in now.

Oh, don’t worry about it. It is really nothing. There are still lots of people get into Michigan Ann Arbor through regular decision. Besides the competition is not very hard in this school.
Trust me, as long as you have a good SAT score, good GPA,excellent essay and bunches of activities, you can surely be admitted in April.

Not so important, don’t worry too much. You’ll get your decision a little later but it shouldn’t affect the outcome

You should be fine. The only thing that should be affected is the date on which you are notified of your decision. The admissions office tries to keep a set standard throughout the entire process for that year, regardless of decision deadline.
