On the Emory app, in contrast with many selective universitiies' applications, they have a portion asking prospective students to check information and provide dates as to when you had an Emory interivew, when you visited open house, when you visited the campus,w hen you had a tour, when you bought a DVD of Emory, etc.... How important are these? I know Emory does not wish to be considered a backup school by those who apply to the Ivies but out of curiousity, does Emory give great importance to those boxes?

They do track this activity.

Can 't I vist and interview, etc, after I apply? I applied somewhere else ED and if I don't get in I will visit Emory, but it is far away and expensive to visit. Can I put on the app that I have planned dates to visit then follow up with an email saying how luch I liked my visit, etc?

How is it that you're supposed to remember when you visited? I know I went sometime in July, but that's as close as it gets.

I actually have something to add to this--

I didn't check the box saying that I visited at the time of my application, but I did visit the website and had a rep. at my school. However, I did sign up for a campus tour coming up so will admissions be able to see that I did visit just not in time to indicate it on my application? I also have had the opportunity to visit because Emory is about 45 minutes away from me...
