How important is Essay???

<p>I am a student attending a small high school in Texas.</p>

<p>I'm planning to apply to some schools that I really want to go to.</p>

<p>These are the lists:</p>

<p>Case Western Reserve univ
Univ of Wisconsin Madison
Purdue univ.
UIUC
Boston Univ
Syracuse
University of Washington
Penn state.
Rutgers etc..</p>

<p>However, I have a low sat score.
But I really do have good ecs and volunteer experieces.</p>

<p>SAT score around 1700s. mm</p>

<p>However, do I still have any shot to the schools that I listed </p>

<p>if I really do well on my Essay??</p>

<p>How'd you do on the ACT? Also, make sure you do have a safety. Scores are not everything, so you still do have a chance at any school. However, your essay (and the rest of the app) has to be extraordinary.</p>
