Let's say I was an okay candidate for mit in all areas besides gpa. Great sat, started an organization, good essays and interview, passion for stem/other unique topics. Is it worth applying to MIT if my gpa is 4.24/5.00 and class rank is 52/360? I also haven't taken AP Chem or AP Bio, and received a B in GT Chem. I am currently taking AP Physics C, and have excellent math classes (I'm taking a course online because there is only 2 other students who are at my level) Can I still get into MIT with this gpa and a great passion for math rather than science? (I really like science now, but it is not so reflective in previous years course work).
And another note is my gpa this year is a 4.85, so how important is first quarter grades and overall senior year gpa?

It’s possible for you to get in, and MIT definitely takes into consideration an upward trend.

You’ll never know if you don’t try.

@Flamboozie:
In an earlier “chance me” thread this summer, you made no mention of starting an organization, and that your unweighted GPA is 3.75.

Can you clarify?
