How important is having 2 rec letters vs 3?

Wellesley College requires you to have three recommendation letters, but I only have two.

I theoretically COULD ask another teacher to write a letter but just, agh. Please don't ask me why I only have two. Just tell me, is this a make it or break it scenario? Should I contact the admissions offices? etc...

If they say it is a required piece of the app, your app will not be considered complete until all the required pieces are in. You really are going to need another rec.

You should call Wellesley’s admission office and ask what will happen. Rule most often followed by colleges is that anything “required” as part of application must be in your file before they will even review it for determining admission and if that file never gets all the required materials, you will simply be rejected for failure to submit required materials. I don’t know if Wellesley actually follows that rule in relation to required recommendation letters.

I agree with this, though it might help if you called Wellesley
