How important is it that a freshman signs up for classes tomorrow?

I had no idea the class registration was so soon! I dont quite understand why they do it that way, I thought a lot of schools let you go for a week and look at different classes before you choose...but anyways, apparently I have to do choose tomorrow.

I guess I have to look at all the classes and stuff, but if I dont get signed up right away does that mean Ill be unable to take many classes that get filled? I would like to take time to explore different options and classes, but I guess I dont have much time by tomorrow, and I really have no idea at all what classes I want to take.

You can still add classes once the classes start. However, it is not guaranteed that they would have a space for you in the class (this depends on what class it is).

Carefully look for classes that you would need and/or enjoy. Good luck!

you could take the max credit limit (I think 18?) and then drop whichever class you liked the least. to be honest you probably should have known not just how some college manage registration but how the specific one you’re attending does. I really don’t mean that to be harsh, but it will behoove you to keep track of these details in the future.

^Max credit limit is around 22 or 23 if I remember it correctly.

@gnrmjd: Check [Schedulizer: Cornell University](http://cornell.schedulizer.com/) if you haven’t.

Not for first semester freshmen in CAS that is.

yeah Im in Arts and Sciences…

If I wait until this weekend so I can decide better (working during the week and exhausted every day…not in the mood to think <_<), will I get blocked out of all the classes I want or what?

there are some classes which are filled already at certain time intervals. i doubt that all of the time intervals will be taken up so soon, but it limits the choices of classes you have as there may be conflicts.
