Have you considered taking calculus over the summer? That’s something that I’m considering, seeing as how I’m not too fond of math either.

“Furthermore, taking four years of a subject that is not your best and that you have to work hard at would demonstrate that you not afraid to take the most difficult course load.”

That is a good point too!:)

You havent taken calculus??!! You definitely need it if you want to look competitive. calculus is the pinnacle of hs math and something that is very useful in life.

My daughter was in a similar situation to yours, and her interests are what you say yours are, except she also loves languages.

Knowing that she didn’t want to take math her senior year, I phoned some top shcools that I knew she wanted to apply to, and the only one that said no math senior year would hurt her app was Kenyon. She didn’t take math, but took 4 APs (school only permits that many in Sr. year) -Euro, Chem, Span, and English, along with 4 advanced classes in other areas.

Her UW GPA was 3.9. School doesn’t weight. No SAT, 34 ACT.

Accepted to NU, CMC, Scripps, Wellesley, UNC-CH(Honors), Carleton, Haverford and more. Attends TU in San Antonio.

You should get into many good schools without math, if the rest, as entomom says, can compensate.

It really depends on what schools you are aiming for. I would look at each school’s website for its recommendations. Harvard’s website for applicants, for examples, states, “To acquire the mathematical background you need at Harvard, you should study mathematics every year in secondary school.”
