The question is pretty blunt. I'll give you the rundown anyway.

Recently, a lot of my friends have told me that it's like a general norm and necessity that I take the Math II subject test. However, I really dislike math and I already have 3 subject tests going for me. I've already taken bio and gotten a decent score on that (enough for me not to retake it) and I've already signed up for ush and literature for this May. I have no intention of going to any tech school nor do I plan on majoring in engineering. I really just want to go to Georgetown University and study political science...do I really need to take Math II for that?

Look up ALL the colleges you are thinking of applying to and check their requirements at a minimum. Georgetown requires three SAT II’s of your choice. Someone else should be able to give a better explanation of whether Math should still be taken even though its not required.

If you’ve taken pre-calc or higher, most colleges say that they want to see math level 2. If not, then level 1 should suffice.

Just so you know, math 2 is an easier test to “game.” It has a better curve, and math deficient posters have reported that using a TI-89 made it easy for them to score well [i.e. 700+] on math 2. The curve is terrific in the sense that you could miss 4 and still get an 800, whereas in math 1 that would drop you to a 730 or something. Definitely research the test before making your decision.
