I am really torn over taking Advanced (aka Accelerated/Honors) Chemistry next year or regular Chemistry. For various reasons, I didn't have a science class this year (I took Honors Bio at my old high school while I was in 8th grade, but was not high enough in math to take Chem. at my current school) so I have not experience my current high school's science program. However, I have talked to friends and teachers who say that Advanced sciences at my school are exceedingly challenging.

How important is it for me to take Advanced/Honors science classes over the years if I want to be accepted into a top 20/30 ranked college?

If this matters at all: Chemistry at my school is typically followed by Physics as a junior, and I was planning on taking AP Environmental Science as a senior regardless.
